Praying and Offerings

Show Respect by dressing up properly - no mini-skirts or skin revealing clothes or those who bare cleavage.
For ladies who are on menstruation is not advisable to enter but they can still pray outside the temple.
There will be incense sticks (donated by devotees) at the entrance so you may not bring your own. You could however buy a bundle of incense sticks and donate the rest at the incense trays on both sides of the main entrance.
The Temple has a giant urn for the incense sticks at the entrance. No incense can be brought inside the Main Hall to prevent soot from staining the ceiling and to prevent unnecessary fire incident within the temple.
No Photo taking within the temple to show respect for the deities. Flash will deteriorate the surfaces.
Make Offerings: you could buy flowers, oil & fruits available at stalls outside the temple.
Enter the Main entrance (middle), both left and right smaller doors are for exiting the temple.
As part of more environmental effort, there is always a incense worker watching over the incense sticks when the urn is about full. He would collect the incense sticks and extinguish them all, therefore 99.9% of the burning of incense sticks won't last till end of the sticks.

After you enter the main entrance, pick up 3 incense sticks for each pax and walk to the oil lamps to light up the tip of the incense.
Ensure the incense is lighted up but not on fire, let it go out by its own or blow (or swing) it out after a few seconds.
You can now position and face Kuan Yin.

Hold the incense and Bow to greet.
Start with chanting "The Great Merciful and Compassionate Kuan Yin" 3 times or (大慈大悲观世音菩萨), followed by "and the rest of the deities, I wish you well" ("和个位尊佛、菩萨和神明, 你们好")
Mentioned your name and where you live
What do you wish for (e.g. "I'm here today to seek advice" or "I wish my family to be safe and healthy" )
After making your wish, please say "Thank You to Kuan Yin and rest of deities blessing".
Place the incense into the urn.
Walk up the few stairs (with wheelchair access) to the main Hall

Make offerings at front of altar, if any.
Look for a empty RED cushion
Kneel and put both hands together near your chest
Again start with chanting "The Great Merciful and Compassionate Kuan Yin" 3 times or (大慈大悲观世音菩萨), followed by "and the rest of the deities, I wish you well" 和个位尊佛、菩萨和神明, 你们好”
Mentioned your name and where you live
Make a wish (e.g. "I wish my family to be safe and healthy" )
After making your wish, please say "Thank You to Kuan Yin and blessing from rest of deities".
You could pray and donate any sum of money, or make more offerings, at your own wish, at the front of the altar.
Exit the temple through the side doorways.

Collect a pair of moon block or with 100 lots container.
Look for a empty RED cushion
Kneel and place both hands together near your chest
Again start with chanting "The Great Merciful and Compassionate Kuan Yin" 3 times or (大慈大悲观世音菩萨), followed by "and the rest of the deities, I wish you well" 和个位尊佛、菩萨和神明, 你们好”

What do you wish for (e.g. "Could you advise..." ).
Ask clear question at one time (Refer to "Advise from Kuan Yin" for more details)
- For direct Yes/No answer, use the Moon blocks and to get 3 consecutive Sheng Poe (one facing up and one facing down) for approval. DO NOT ASK the same question over and over again if you receive 1 NO GO answer. (Refer to "How to ask" from Advise from Kuan Yin)
- For more complex or important question, approach the counter to get the bamboo container with 100 chim (sticks) and Moon blocks. While kneeling at the red cushion, ask the question and shake the container until one of the chim drop onto the floor. To find out whether if this is the right stick, throw 3 consecutive Sheng Poe (one facing up and one facing down) for approval. If either one is not Sheng Poe, it means this is not the right stick and put the stick back to the container. Repeat the ask and shake the container again.
  DO NOT ASK the same question over and over again if you receive 1 NO GO answer. (Refer to "How to ask" from Advise from Kuan Yin). After getting the right chim, hold on to it and exchange at the counter for a number lot.
- With the chosen number lot, please DO NOT INTEPRET the lot for complex question by yourself as we are all unconscious biased.
- GOOD or BAD Chim or Poe does not mean the outcome is confirmed. It depends on how you ask and future actions may change the outcome.

- After reviewing the number lot, you can burn the "bad" lot under the container below the oil lamps at the Incense area. Good or medium lot can be kept or burn too.
After you have received Kuan Yin advice, please say "Thank You to Kuan Yin and blessing from rest of deities"
