In addition to Kuan Yin, the temple houses altars to other notable deities, including Da Mo, the first patriarch of Chan (Zen) Buddhism, and Hua Tuo, a renowned Han-dynasty physician and the patron saint of medicine.

Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple has a long history of charitable contributions including support of several health and educational initiatives, such as the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Development Fund and the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), where it sponsored 2 dialysis centers.
